Tokyo-based ecommerce giant Rakuten hosted their first ever conference Rakuten Optimism this week in SF. Rakuten is the largest e-commerce site in Japan and among the world’s largest by sales (5th) and has recently formed partnerships with Wal-Mart to launch an audio and eBooks platform.
